Mr. chairman, distinguish ladies and gentlemen, good evening.
I welcome you all to multi-build's 10th anniversary gala night.
It is indeed a great day to be a part of the Multi Build family and to have all you, wonderful people here to celebrate with us, makes it even more awesome. We count ourselves very privileged to have you all here today.
10 years of doing business in Ghana; with all the power crisis, the delay in payments from clients, especially those of us who deal with governmental set ups, and all the other countless challenges in the working environment, it is indeed worth celebrating. Celebrating the value of people and honoring them and tonight the plan has been to do just that. I am not going to bore you with a long history of our journey but preparations leading to tonight, gave me the chance to reflect on how the Multi Build journey has been.
We certainly had our fair share of the usual ups and downs, front and back of doing business but one thing that was eminent, was how less endowed from the start we come across for the journey we sort to embark on. A very young side, with little resources, operating from a converted kitchen, we couldn't shout about our experience nor boast of any extraordinary creativity. But we were a team and with sheer determination and pure graft, backing down was never an option. Whatever it took, no matter what it required, we were sure to give it our best try. It didn't always bring us the results, but self-fulfillment never eluded us, and that gave us the confidence and the strength to keep pushing on.
Today we stand here far from what we intended to achieve but can't say it has not been worth our while. Out of Multi-Build Limited, which started off as a project management company, we have been able to establish with other partners, Multi Space Limited - a property and property services company, Multi Depot - a construction supplies sourcing company, Multi-Build Consult - a purely consultancy firm, Unibuild limited - a construction and engineering outfit, and our new baby which is geared towards giving back - Gold Helmet Foundation which we pre launched this evening.
10years has come and gone, and the years to come will be the beginning of a new chapter in our company's life. It will come with even tougher challenges and to survive, we will have to set ourselves up to achieve new things which will require us doing things differently to meet the demands of the times. We will need to be creative, we will need to show competence, but let's not lose sight of the values that has brought us this far. Which have been teamwork, determination, and hard work.
As I bring my speech to an end, I want to thank all our clients over the years, from the huge ones like the MTNs and the government institutions to the small but very important individuals. Thank you for your patronage but like Oliver twist, we will be needing even more going forward.
To our dedicated associates and employees, we indeed appreciate you. You are part of the success story.
To our families, we can't thank you enough for your support and understanding. The coming home late after work, the frequent trips out of town, those awkward Sunday meetings we promise to work at reducing them, but unfortunately can't guarantee it stopping.
And finally, and most importantly to the Almighty God for His grace and mercies.
